Glashütte, too, was characterised by a spirit of renewal and progress at that time. Some 100 years later, the Glashütte Original manufactory is reviving the spirit of this era with the Senator Aventurine Art Nouveau Green. Its deep green, subtle sparkle and warm red gold combine to pay homage to the mysterious beauty and primal power of nature. This timepiece with automatic winding is one of Glashütte Original’s exclusive Atelier commissions. Each of these watches is assembled and regulated entirely by a single watchmaker. A flat 40 mm red gold case frames the delicately shimmering green aventurine dial, against which the gold hour and minute hands take centre stage. A brown Louisiana alligator leather strap with a red gold pin buckle completes this elegant creation. The aventurine dial evokes the mysterious beauty of tropical nature: lush foliage shimmering in the deep green of the jungle, and droplets of water glistening on the leaves after a rain shower. Aventurine has its origins in 17th-century Murano, Venice. It owes its characteristic sparkle to metal oxides, which are mixed into the molten glass and combine to form fine, shimmering particles. Their random arrangement creates a vibrant interplay of light and depth, making every dial a unique piece. Behind the elegant design lies the finest watchmaking craftsmanship: the high-precision in-house Calibre 36 delivers a stable running time of 100 hours. The silicon balance spring protects the movement from the adverse effects of magnetic fields and temperature fluctuations. The intricate finishes can be admired in all their beauty through the sapphire crystal case back: the Glashütte stripe finish on the three-quarter plate, the hand-engraved balance cock, and the skeletonized rotor with a mirrored ‘G’ symbol and solid gold oscillating weight.
