Tempered glass is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal glass. Tempering puts the outer surfaces into compression and the interior into tension. Such stresses cause the glass, when broken, to crumble into small granular chunks instead of splintering into jagged shards as plate glass (annealed glass) does. The granular chunks are less likely to cause injury. About the color of the glass Note: This door is normally made in float glass. Float glass is transparent and lets the light pass through without problems, but if you look at it from the edge, it has a greenish color. If you want white glass or another color, such as Arctic Blue or Green Blue, you can order it upon request for an additional cost. Important information about how frosting is applied. Please note that for semi-private and non-private doors, sandblasting will be applied to the front of the door (For more information on this, see our blog.) For full privacy doors, sandblasting is applied to the design and the entire back surface.
