Engineered for off-road racing, the SM7 helmet delivers the ideal blend of lightweight comfort, superior ventilation, aerodynamic performance, and exceptional impact protection. Its multi-layer shell is constructed from a blend of fiberglass, carbon, and aramid fiber for optimized impact protection and force dissipation, sliding performance, energy absorption, stability, and durability. The A-Head Fitment system and Visor Detaching System provide enhanced adjustability and protection, while PLASMA technology at the lower shell edge helps dissipate energy in the event of contact with the collarbone area. Key Features Aerodynamic profile design creates a smooth, streamlined shell without external channels or features that could act as load points during an impact. The shell curvature promotes reduced friction on impact, allowing deflection and efficient energy transfer to help protect the rider’s head, neck, and spinal column. Ultra-ventilated design features 20 individual intake and exhaust ports, not including the eye port, with 13 intakes and 7 exhausts for optimum airflow. Fit can be customized with replacement cheek pads, available in all thicknesses and interchangeable between shell sizes. Communication System Compatible — Cutaway section on the left side of the EPS accommodates intercom systems, with earphone recesses on both sides for speakers. Linings are removable and washable by hand using warm water and neutral soap, and fabrics feature antimicrobial treatments. The crown pad and neck pad are elastically connected for improved oblique impact management. The top pad is removable and height-adjustable through the A-Head system. 3D foam cheek pads include an emergency extraction system (ERS) and a channel for hydration tube installation. Cheek pads are interchangeable among all sizes. The chin strap features a 25 mm nylon strap, stainless steel DD rings, and removable covers for washing. Integrated channels on both sides accommodate a hydration system. Protection The Visor Detaching System uses a release mechanism designed to avoid weaknesses found in conventional anchoring systems. The visor is engineered to automatically detach from the shell when subjected to impact energy greater than 15 Joules, regardless of direction, for optimized impact protection. Alpinestars PLASMA technology is strategically integrated into the side pads for high-performance shock absorption in a critical area, significantly reducing the risk of injuries.
