SkyLink Citadel
100% Global, Dual-Mode Connectivity Hybrid satellite and LTE communications solution with voice and data connectivity – anywhere on Earth. Protection From Piracy SOS transmits threat alerts, backup battery and alternative PNT signal enables continuous operations. Low SWaP, Outdoor Terminal Designed as a compact and discreet outdoor unit to minimise potential damage from an intruder. Powered by the global Iridium Certus® satellite network, SkyLink Citadel is a purpose-built maritime communications solution designed to keep vessels connected during security threats, emergencies and offshore operations. Combining satellite and LTE connectivity with dedicated SOS functionality, the system provides a resilient communications link between crews and the outside world. Reliable Maritime Communications, Even in the Most Challenging Environments When operating offshore, maintaining reliable communications is essential for both crew safety and vessel security. SkyLink Citadel from NAL Technologies is designed to provide dependable satellite voice and data connectivity, particularly when conventional onboard communications are unavailable, compromised or deliberately disabled. Built specifically for maritime security applications, the system combines global Iridium satellite coverage with LTE connectivity, providing vessels with an additional means of communicating with shore-based teams, emergency contacts and operational support. From commercial shipping and offshore operations to vessels travelling through high-risk maritime regions, SkyLink Citadel helps maintain a critical connection with the outside world. Purpose-Built Protection Against Maritime Piracy In a maritime security incident, the ability to communicate discreetly and reliably can make a significant difference. SkyLink Citadel incorporates a dedicated SOS switch that allows a distress message to be transmitted from the vessel. This provides an additional way to communicate during a piracy threat or other serious onboard emergency. The system's compact outdoor terminal is designed for discreet installation, helping reduce its exposure to interference or deliberate damage. Backup battery capability also supports continued communications if the vessel's external power supply is interrupted. Rather than relying solely on a vessel's primary communications equipment, operators can establish a separate satellite communications capability as part of their wider maritime security arrangements. Global Connectivity Powered by Iridium Certus® SkyLink Citadel uses the Iridium Certus 100 network to provide voice and IP data connectivity beyond the reach of conventional terrestrial networks. With two HD voice lines and satellite data capabilities, the system supports essential communication between crew members and shore-based contacts, even when vessels are operating far offshore. Its satellite service offers data speeds of up to 88 kbps download and 22 kbps upload, suitable for supported messaging, email and other low-bandwidth applications. Hybrid LTE and satellite connectivity provides additional flexibility, while Iridium's global coverage helps maintain communications across remote maritime routes. What's Included with SkyLink Citadel? A complete maritime communications package, bringing together satellite connectivity, emergency communications and backup power. SkyLink Citadel can be equipped with Iridium Satellite Time and Location (STL), providing an additional positioning, navigation and timing capability that complements conventional GPS/GNSS systems. This offers vessel operators an extra layer of resilience in GPS-challenged environments, supporting more dependable positioning information as part of a wider maritime safety and navigation strategy. Iridium STL capability should be confirmed as part of the selected system configuration. Compact, Rugged and Designed for Maritime Environments SkyLink Citadel has been engineered with size, weight and power efficiency in mind. Its compact outdoor terminal helps simplify installation while reducing the amount of exposed hardware. Designed for demanding marine conditions, the system operates across a wide temperature range and supports integration into vessel communications arrangements. With straightforward operation, battery backup and an advanced local firewall, SkyLink Citadel brings together connectivity, security and practical deployment in a single maritime solution.
