Sanding the floor flat after install and putting a finish on it is the installer's work, and doing it on site is what gets you a flat floor and an even sheen across the whole room. If you want a prefinished floor, this is not that product, and we would rather you know now than when the pallet lands. Pick your face • Dirty face. It takes a sanding, it takes another one years later, and the relief cuts in the back let the board sit flat and move with the season instead of cupping. Thinner stock does not give you that second life. Installation Nail down over a prepared subfloor, or glue down over slab with the right adhesive and moisture barrier. Let the wood acclimate in the room for a week before you install. Order 10% over your measured square footage for cuts and waste, 15% on a diagonal layout. Sand flat and finish on site.
