S259 Wedge Midnight

The s259 builds on the s159 family that won on Tour. The Midnight finish is an anti-glare QPQ treatment, offered in the S grind only from 46° to 60°. This is the Midnight finish. Grooves Cut for the Shot The wheel-cut grooves are precision-milled to different dimensions depending on loft. From 54° up the MicroMax grooves sit more tightly spaced, so more groove edges engage the ball on short shots. From 46° to 52° a 20-degree sidewall maximises groove volume for control on full swings. Face Blast for Friction A friction-adding face blast works alongside the grooves, which matters most on the shorter shots where the ball never fully compresses into the grooves. On Midnight the blast is applied after the finish, which leaves the face a contrasting colour against the head. Feel The cast 8620 carbon steel head carries a larger, reshaped elastomer insert behind the face. Ping also refined the hosel transition and added a full-length bottom groove for a cleaner, squarer look at address. The S Grind Mid bounce through the sole supports full shots, while heel and trail-edge relief gives you room to open the face around the green.
