Vintage Mens 1950s British Corduroy Trousers Cords Sand Straw Beige Work Pants 30"

A nicely broken-in pair of early 1950s British corduroy trousers, made by 'Henley' from fairly heavy weight cotton cord fabric in a sandy or straw beige colour, & retailed by J F Hawkins of Camberley. They have double inward pleats, belt loops & side buckle adjuster tabs, button fly, braces buttons, 2 side slip & 1 rear pockets & turn-ups. English cords of this era are hard to find, European examples are much more common. Please study the photographs carefully - they form an important part of the description. Size: Suggested 30" waist. All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent): Waist: 15 1/2" (39cm) Inside leg: 31" (79cm) [nothing to let down without using the turn-ups] Outside leg: 42" (107cm) Rise - crotch seam to top of waist: 12 1/2" (32cm) Leg width at hem: 8 1/2" (21.5cm) Condition: In good but quite well-used condition with signs of wear overall - there is overall fading, marbling & patina - faint greying at the thigh, knee & seat areas & a few other scattered marks - a worn spot at the base of the fly - a repair to the back pocket corner - fraying to the tip of the waist tab - wear & repairs to the pocket bags - the legs have been taken in by about 1 1/2" along the inside leg seams; the fabric remains to let them out but there would probably be a mark. Have been thoroughly steamed prior to listing but a Febreze type smell remains.
