Clay Sphere Split Mould Kit, designed with Karen Wiltshire Ceramics GL

Smooth, even, hollow clay spheres in minutes, in seven sizes from 5cm (2 inch) right up to 30cm (12 inch). Our split mould kit takes the guesswork out of making spheres for lanterns, planters, tealight holders, ornaments and sculptural pieces, with no wobbly seams and no hours of pinching. Designed with Dorset ceramicist Karen Wiltshire (@karenwiltshireceramics), who uses it in her studio every week. In her words, it is such an easy way to make spheres in clay. Sizes The cm size is the exact size of the sphere. The inch size is the closest whole inch to it. 5cm (2 inch) 7.5cm (3 inch) 10cm (4 inch) 15cm (6 inch) 20cm (8 inch) 25cm (10 inch) 30cm (12 inch) What is in the kit 5cm to 15cm: two half moulds, a plunger and a combined cutter and holding ring. 20cm to 30cm: two half moulds and a plunger. These sizes do not come with a cutter, so you cut your clay circle to the size below. Clay thickness and circle size 5cm, 7.5cm and 10cm: roll your clay to 5mm thick 15cm: roll your clay to 8mm thick 20cm: 8mm thick, cut a 334mm circle 25cm: 8mm thick, cut a 417mm circle 30cm: 8mm thick, cut a 500mm circle How to use Roll a slab of clay to the thickness for your size and cut a circle, using the cutter for 5cm to 15cm or a template for the larger sizes Press the clay into each half of the mould Trim the edges flush Bring the two halves together to form the sphere Release and finish Care 3D printed in our Dorset workshop. Sizes are marked on each mould. Wipe clean with a damp sponge and dry before use. Please keep away from high heat, so no hot cars or kilns. Once used with clay, keep for craft use only and not for food.
