Cute hunting martin (Lacedo pulchella)

This Asian pied bee-eater lives in dense forests, from the lowlands up to 1,000 m above sea level. It hunts from an ambush, perched, then swoops down on its prey. It has a bright blue crown, a chestnut face and nape, a white throat, and an orange-red beak. Its wings and tail are black, streaked with light blue, and its belly is chamois-colored. Here, it is perched on a branch.
