The MEATER Pro XL is a four-probe wireless meat thermometer: four fully wire-free stainless steel probes that live in a charging dock with its own OLED screen. There are no leads to trap under a lid or melt on a grate, so you can run a brisket, a pork shoulder and two chickens in the same cook and track each one separately. Each 5 mm probe carries six sensors - five reading inside the meat and one reading the air around it - so you see the internal temperature and what the cooker is doing at that spot. Built-in WiFi and Bluetooth 5.2 long range connect to the MEATER app, and the dock's screen lets you check temperatures without a phone at all. It suits anyone cooking more than one piece of meat at a time: big smoker loads, a mix of cuts on the grill (see our smoker accessories for the rest of the setup), a roast in the oven with a side of ribs on the BBQ, or proteins that need different finishing temperatures. 4 wireless probes, each with 5 internal sensors and 1 ambient sensor Up to 105°C internal and 550°C ambient - built for searing and open flame ±0.3°C accuracy, 5 mm thin probes 24+ hours per charge; WiFi, Bluetooth and standalone display on the dock What the MEATER Pro XL Wireless Meat Thermometer Does Track four cuts at once Every probe reports on its own, so a brisket flat that's still climbing and a chicken that's ready to come off show up as separate readings. Useful when you're feeding a crowd or cooking proteins that finish at different temperatures. Read the meat and the cooker The five internal sensors read at different depths along the probe, which helps you catch the thickest, slowest part of the cut. The ambient sensor, in the end that stays outside the meat, tells you the temperature right where that piece is cooking - handy on a smoker or kettle where one side of the grate runs hotter than the other. Handle high heat The ambient sensor is rated to 550°C and the probes use MEATER's Flame Guard stainless design, so they can stay in for hot searing and cooking over open flame, not just low-and-slow. Estimate when it'll be ready In the MEATER app, the Advanced Estimator works out the remaining cook time and rest time from how fast each piece is heating, and the Guided Cook System walks you through each step of a cook. That makes it easier to time sides and plan when guests sit down. Check temps without your phone The charging dock has an OLED screen that shows your readings directly, and standalone mode lets you cook without a smartphone connected. How to Use Charge the probes in the dock with the included USB-C cable. A 5-minute charge gives about 2 hours of cooking; 30 minutes gives 24 hours. Insert each probe into the thickest part of its cut, following the insertion guide in the MEATER instructions so the ambient sensor stays outside the meat. Pick each cut and its target temperature in the MEATER app, or monitor from the dock's screen in standalone mode. Cook as normal - smoker, kettle, gas BBQ, oven, air fryer, deep fryer or sous vide. Pull the meat when the app or screen says it's done, and rest it for the estimated time. What's Included 4 x MEATER Pro XL wireless probes Charging dock with OLED display and built-in battery USB-C charging cable Important Limitations Maximum internal (meat) temperature is 105°C and maximum ambient temperature is 550°C. Don't exceed either. The probes are wireless; the charging dock is not. Keep the dock out of the cooker. The full app features (cook and rest estimates, Guided Cook) need a compatible smartphone or tablet with the free MEATER app. The probes contain lithium-ion batteries and must be recycled or disposed of properly, not put in household rubbish. Fits and Compatibility The MEATER Pro XL isn't tied to one cooker. It works in smokers, kamados, pellet grills, charcoal BBQs and kettles, gas BBQs, ovens and air fryers, and the probes can be used for deep frying and sous vide. Because there are no wires, it also works where lead probes struggle, such as under a tight kamado lid. Dry the probes before returning them to the dock. Store the probes in the dock so they stay charged and together. Keep the dock clean and dry, and away from grill heat. FAQs Do I need a phone to use it? No. The dock's OLED screen shows your temperatures and standalone mode works without a phone. You'll want the app for cook-time estimates and guided cooks. Can I leave the probes in over open flame? Yes, within limits. The ambient sensor is rated to 550°C and the Flame Guard probes are designed for high-heat grilling. Keep the internal reading under 105°C. How long do the probes last on a charge? Over 24 hours from a full charge, enough for most overnight brisket or pork shoulder cooks. A 5-minute top-up gives about 2 hours. Can I use fewer than four probes? Yes. Use one, two, three or all four - each probe runs as its own cook. What's the difference between the MEATER Pro XL and a single-probe wireless thermometer? Four probes instead of one, plus a dock with its own screen and built-in WiFi. If you only ever cook one piece at a time, a single-probe option like the INKBIRD INT-11S-B wireless meat thermometer may be all you need. You can compare the full range in our BBQ thermometers collection.
