Finnish Art Deco Nickel-Plated Brass, String & Glass Chandelier, 1930s

Elegant Finnish Art Deco chandelier from the 1930s, combining nickel-plated brass with four textured glass shades and a long string-wrapped suspension finished with a decorative tassel. The flowing metal arms create a graphic, symmetrical structure, while the scalloped glass shades are finished with delicate gold-coloured lines. The chandelier is not documented in the known period catalogues we have been able to reference, and its designer remains unknown. Regardless of attribution, this is a beautiful example of Finnish Art Deco lighting. Its open structure gives the chandelier presence without feeling heavy, while the textured glass creates a soft and atmospheric light.
