Wired & Wireless Interconnection Both the VFS-HA/10 Heat Alarm and VFS-PA/10 Smoke Alarm offer flexible interconnection options. Alarms can be hard-wired together or, when fitted with the compatible RF module (sold separately), linked wirelessly. This allows multiple compatible alarms throughout a property to communicate with each other, so when one interconnected alarm is triggered, all linked alarms sound, helping provide an earlier warning throughout the property. Wireless RF interconnection is particularly useful where installing additional interconnect cabling would be difficult or disruptive. The VFS-PA/10 Smoke Alarm is a mains-powered photoelectric alarm designed to provide reliable early warning of smoke and fire in residential properties. Using photoelectric sensing technology, the alarm is particularly sensitive to visible smoke particles associated with smouldering fires, such as those involving soft furnishings, sofas and bedding. Powered from a 220–240V AC mains supply, the VFS-PA/10 incorporates a 3V DC battery backup, helping maintain protection if mains power is interrupted. The alarm produces a powerful >85dB(A) audible warning at 3 metres and incorporates LED status indication for easy monitoring. A key feature of the VFS-PA/10 is its flexible interconnection capability. Compatible alarms can be linked using a wired interconnect, so activation of one alarm causes the other interconnected alarms on the circuit to sound. The unit also supports wireless interconnection via a compatible coded RF module, allowing suitable alarms to be paired without an interconnect cable.
