La Catrina, the beloved figure of Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), introduces little ones to colors and their first English and Spanish words. Gather marigold flowers/cempasúchil, drink coffe/atole café, and light a rainbow of candles to welcome our dearly departed back home! Alebrijes (Mexican folk art), sugar skulls, and papel cortado (decorative tissue paper) are all examples of the bright colors found in Day of the Dead festivities and in this captivating colors primer!
