Green Sea Glass Heart - Framed Scottish Beach Art

A sea glass heart picture handmade from beautiful pale green Scottish beach glass. The sea glass washes up on the gorgeous beaches in the East Neuk of Fife in Scotland. The shades of glass included in this heart are evocatively known as 'sea foam'. Much of it dates back to the Victorian era and is known as 'mermaid tears'. As legend has it, when sailors were lost at sea, the mermaids would cry and their tears would wash up on the shore. The glass has been reshaped and smoothed over decades of tumbling in the Scottish waves! Silver wire Celtic spirals have been added to enhance the shapes and colour of the glass.
