Flora Fantastica No. 1 – Original Painting

From the Flora Fantastica series, Flora Fantastica No. 1 is a one-of-a-kind original painting by Australian artist Kirsten Katz. A generous bouquet gathers in a deep teal vase patterned with rings and drops, set on a cobalt striped tabletop against a soft spring green. At its heart is a golden bloom layered in coral, pink and cream, edged with a fine black fringe. Around it sit a large protea-like flower in yellow, cream and crimson, a golden banksia-style cone, coral and lemon dotted blooms, deep green foliage scattered with lilac drops, and a pink textured bud topped with a blue zigzag. Every petal is built up in hand-painted lines, dots and stripes, so there is always something new to find. Painted in acrylic on a 40 x 60cm canvas and professionally framed in Australia in a Tasmanian oak float frame. The light timber sits easily in any interior, from coastal and beach homes to soft beige rooms, and lets the painting and its colours take centre stage. Signed and titled on the back, so no signature interrupts the painting itself. Ready to hang. Beautiful on its own, or hung with No. 2 and No. 3 as a set of two or three. Once sold, this piece will not be repeated. Framed size: 43 x 63.5cm (17 x 25in) Canvas size: 40 x 60cm Medium: Acrylic on canvas
