Craiglee Shiraz 2022

Craiglee Shiraz 2022 is a medium-weight, pepper-dusted Shiraz off one of Victoria's oldest vineyard sites at Sunbury. Sunbury lies on the plains north-west of Melbourne, open to the wind and cool enough that the grape leans towards spice and fine-boned structure rather than sheer weight. A bluestone cellar from the 1860s still stands on the property, the Carmody family have farmed it since the 1970s, and picking comes off the home block with a deliberately light hand in the winery. New oak is used sparingly. Dark cherry and cracked pepper sit over savoury, fine-grained tannins. Pour it at 16–18°C beside slow-cooked lamb shoulder or a mushroom risotto; a few years in the cellar will only help. *Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur.
