Antique Japanese Isho Dansu Chest-on-Chest - Paulownia | Edo, Mid 19th Century

An antique Japanese isho dansu, a kimono storage chest-on-chest. Made from kiri (paulownia) with iron hardware. Edo period, mid 19th century.Four full-width drawers are split across two stacking sections. Each drawer has a pair of iron handles and a central lockplate with a flower-shaped button. Iron carrying handles sit on the sides of each section, with iron fittings at the corners.
