Shade Savant®

GRASS SEED MADE FOR SHADE: Struggling to grow grass under trees or in other low-light areas? Shade Savant® combines perennial ryegrass and fine fescue varieties selected to create dense, attractive turf in areas with limited sunlight. FAST GERMINATION & ESTABLISHMENT: Perennial ryegrass provides quick germination and rapid establishment, while fine fescue adds excellent shade tolerance and a fine texture. Seed typically germinates within 10–21 days under favorable conditions. SHADE & DROUGHT TOLERANT: Built for challenging lawn areas, Shade Savant® performs with as little as 4–6 hours of sunlight per day and provides added drought tolerance once established. VERSATILE & DURABLE: Ideal for overseeding thin or bare areas as well as establishing new lawns. The blend produces medium to dark green turf and handles light to moderate foot traffic. SEEDING & CARE: Apply 6–8 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. in early spring or fall when temperatures are 60–80°F. Keep the seedbed consistently moist with light watering 2–3 times daily until emergence is complete. Once established, mow at 2–3 inches, or as low as 1.5 inches when needed.
