AceMate Tennis Robot
AceMate Tennis Robot The AceMate Tennis Robot is the world's first AI tennis robot built for real rally play, not just ball feeding. Named a TIME Best Invention of 2025, a 2025 ISPO Award Winner, and the official supplier of the Billie Jean King Cup Finals 2025, the AceMate sees your shots with dual binocular 4K cameras, moves into position on four metal-core Mecanum wheels, catches the ball in its onboard net, and returns it back to you in real time with a 0.15-second reaction time and movement speeds of up to 5 meters per second. With two training modes (Rally and Serve), 40+ built-in ITN-structured training programs, interactive target zone drills, split step recovery detection, and post-session performance reports delivered through the AceMate App V2.0 including Apple Watch integration, the AceMate is a training partner, a serve machine, and an AI coach in a single device that fits in the trunk of a car. Works on hard courts, clay, and grass. Ships with a 12-month international warranty and free priority shipping. Not a Ball Machine. A Rally Partner. Traditional tennis ball machines feed balls from a fixed position. They do not move, they do not track your shots, and they do not react to where you are on the court. The AceMate works differently. It uses binocular dual 4K cameras, not a monocular single camera, to capture depth and speed the way human eyes do, enabling centimeter-level 3D tracking and real-time shot analysis without wearables, floor sensors, or external equipment. When you hit the ball, the AceMate sees it, calculates the trajectory, drives into position on its four metal-core Mecanum wheels with rubber treads, catches the ball in its onboard net, and launches it back to you. The result is a genuine back-and-forth rally that adapts to your pace and placement, not a pre-programmed sequence. Like any real opponent, it will not return every extreme angle or unexpected spin, but for the vast majority of standard groundstroke rallies it responds and returns. Why binocular cameras matter: Monocular camera systems struggle to accurately measure depth and ball velocity in real time. The AceMate uses two synchronized 4K cameras, a binocular setup, which captures true depth perception the same way human vision does. This enables the AceMate to calculate 3D ball position and speed with centimeter-level accuracy, giving it the data it needs to move into the right position before the ball arrives, rather than reacting after it lands. Rally Mode: Three Court Zones, One Continuous Rally Rally Mode is the AceMate's primary training mode. The robot positions itself on the opposite side of the net and engages in live back-and-forth rally play with you. Three rally zone options let you tailor each session to your current training goal. Baseline Rally Full-court rally from the baseline with customizable pace and ball speed Designed for groundstroke development and match-simulation training The AceMate tracks your position and adjusts rally intensity dynamically based on your movement and performance Mini-Court Rally Shorter court rally for beginners or as a structured warm-up before full-court play Lower ball speed and tighter ball placement for controlled shot development Useful for technical stroke work and for players returning from injury or layoff Net Rally Fast-paced, controlled feeds designed specifically for volley and net game training AceMate delivers balls suited to net exchanges at a pace and height appropriate for volley drills Builds reaction time and hand speed at the net position Serve Mode: Flat, Topspin, Slice, and High Lob Up to 8 Meters Switch from Rally Mode to Serve Mode with a single tap in the AceMate app. In Serve Mode, the AceMate acts as a dedicated ball launcher, delivering serves and feeds with precise placement, height, and spin control. Ball types supported include flat, topspin, backspin/slice, and high lobs up to 8 meters, a calibrated lob height specifically designed for overhead smash practice. Maximum ball speed is 60 mph on standard feeds, with serve delivery at speeds confirmed by external reviewers at up to 80 mph. Maximum spin output is 60 revolutions per second. Smash practice at 8 meters: High lob delivery for overhead smash practice is one of the most difficult things to replicate consistently with a human practice partner. The AceMate delivers repeatable lobs to a calibrated height of up to 8 meters on every repetition, giving players a consistent arc to time their smash against. A human partner cannot reliably reproduce this across an extended drill set. 40+ Built-In Training Programs and Interactive Target Zone Drills The AceMate includes 40+ scientifically structured training programs designed around International Tennis Number (ITN) On-Court Assessment standards. Rather than manually adjusting speed, spin, and placement settings before each drill, players select a program from the app and start immediately. Programs are structured around real training goals and skill levels, from beginner groundstroke consistency through to advanced placement and footwork drills. The AceMate's Interactive Target Zone mode adds an accuracy challenge layer to drill play. The robot only catches the ball and continues the rally when your shot lands inside a designated target zone. Shots landing outside the zone are not returned, forcing deliberate focus on placement and shot control throughout the drill rather than simply hitting balls back. Split Step Recovery Detection The AceMate monitors your court positioning and recovery movement between shots. In recovery drill mode, it does not feed the next ball until you have returned to the correct position on the court and completed a proper split step, the foundational readiness movement used in competitive tennis. This enforces match-realistic recovery habits during every drill rather than allowing players to stand still between feeds, which is a common limitation of static ball machine training. AceMate App V2.0: AI Coaching, Performance Reports, and Apple Watch Integration Every session is tracked and analyzed through the AceMate App V2.0, available for Android and iPhone, with Apple Watch integration for at-a-glance post-session summaries. During a session, the app provides real-time in/out shot feedback on every ball. After each session, the app generates a full performance report covering: Target accuracy and shot placement distribution across the court Ball speed data on your shots Net clearance measurements Consistency metrics across the session Contact point and swing technique analysis from the dual 4K cameras Scoring against ITN-structured drill benchmarks where applicable Apple Watch integration delivers a summary at the end of each session showing total time, total shots hit, and estimated calories burned, without requiring the phone to be checked between points. The app also functions as the primary control interface for the AceMate. Ball velocity, serve height, landing spots, shot type, and movement zone settings are all configured and adjusted through the app before or during a session. The AceMate connects to your device via Bluetooth. Aluminum Alloy Frame, Mecanum Wheels, and Predefined Movement Zone The AceMate's body frame and ball-catching net poles are constructed from high-strength aluminum alloy, not plastic, making the unit resistant to direct ball impact during normal play. The four metal-core Mecanum wheels with rubber treads allow omnidirectional movement across the court, enabling the robot to reposition laterally, forward, and diagonally without turning. Movement speed is up to 5 meters per second (approx. 16 ft/s) with a 0.15-second reaction time from shot detection to movement initiation. The AceMate operates within a predefined movement zone and will not move more than 2 meters behind the baseline. The movement zone is fully customizable via the app. This prevents the robot from leaving the court area during a rally. It is important to note that the AceMate does not currently include rear or side obstacle detection. Users should ensure the court is free of obstacles before starting a rally session. Battery, Portability, and Court Compatibility The AceMate runs on a removable battery pack that charges fully in approximately 2 hours and provides up to 2 hours of continuous use per charge. Battery status is monitored in real time through the app. The battery plugs in and out quickly, and a second battery can be used to extend session time without waiting for a recharge. A portable charger is included in the box. In compact form, the AceMate measures 45 x 55 x 50 cm and weighs 17.8 kg. When the collapsible net is fully extended for use, it measures 45 x 55 x 170 cm. The compact folded dimensions fit in the trunk or back seat of most standard cars, and the unit can be driven across the court surface to its position via the app. No manual carrying is required once it is on court. The AceMate operates on hard courts, clay, and grass. Battery life note: Actual battery life may vary depending on usage habits and playing environment. Up to 2 hours is the manufacturer's stated figure under standard conditions. For extended training sessions, a second battery is recommended.
