Alphonse Mucha "Reverie" 1897 Lithograph

Among Mucha's works, "Reverie" is particularly popular. Many versions have been produced since then, but this is the most famous version sold by La Plume. Like Mucha's masterpiece, "The Zodiac," this was originally created as a calendar design by the Parisian printing company Champenois. Later, without the calendar portion, it was sold by La Plume as a fantastical decorative panel, and became immensely popular. A statue of a woman with her eyes gently closed, standing dreamily among the flowers. Flowing lines, soft colors, and delicate symbolism - this is a masterpiece from Mucha's golden period that embodies the spirit of Art Nouveau. This is an original antique print produced at that time.
