The bark on young trunks and branches is smooth and olive-green with prominent, vertical, silvery-white stripes, creating a snakeskin-like pattern. The bark turns brown with age, but retains its vertical striations. Unusual in bonsai culture. Has light wire marks that are disappearing with age. Notes: Fast and easy growing. Will make a medium sized bonsai.
