the fully realized molded and shaped sitting Cani Molosso figure, it’s head turned slightly to the left, his neck fitted with an elaborate studded collar in high relief with padlock and tag; the whole raised on rectangular plinth with impressed stamp: Vittoria Agresti Impruneta First half 20th Century - Impruneta, Italy Overall dimensions: 11” wide x 23” deep x 26” high (plinth: 11” wide x 16 1/2” deep) Fornace Agresti dates to the 18th Century. The agresti family’s profession as kiln operatore in Impruneta is documented at least as early as the mid-18th Century, and could be tied to the businessrun by the Lottini family, documented as far back as the early 1600’s.
