Fender 2001 Pro Reverb Pro Tube Series 1x12 50W Excellent
No sales tax for US customers outside California. The 2001 Pro Reverb was part of Fender's Professional Tube Series — model PR448 — designed in the Amp Custom Shop and built on the regular tube amp line at Fender's Corona, California facility. It was quickly discontinued, leaving very few examples in circulation — a three-year production run that has made these amplifiers consistently undervalued relative to what they actually do. The Pro Reverb name has a long history at Fender stretching back to 1965, and this 2001 reissue brings it forward with a two-channel design, full-featured effects loop, and the quarter-power switch that sets it apart from everything else in Fender's production history. The all-tube 50-watt circuit features a Normal channel voiced in the blackface tradition — crystalline cleans that project the classic Fender tonal character — and a Drive channel with a warmer, more pleasant gain character than the harsher gain Fender produced in other models of the era. Tube-driven reverb and tremolo are onboard, with a full-featured effects loop and a rear-panel power level switch that drops output to approximately 12.5 watts. That quarter-power switch is the practical feature that makes this amp genuinely versatile — 50 watts of 6L6 push-pull power at full output for large venues, and approximately 12.5 watts for recording and smaller stages where the amp's tonal character needs to be accessible at lower volumes. The 12" Jensen speaker is original, manufacturer code confirming Jensen production from week 21 of 2001. Original Schumacher power, output, and reverb transformers, all dating to 2000-2001 production. Original filter caps — a notable finding on a 24-year-old amplifier that has clearly been well maintained. Original pots. GT 6L6 power tubes, GT and JJ preamp tubes. Original black tolex, silver sparkle grille cloth, all in excellent condition throughout. At approximately 75 lbs this is a substantial amp — the weight reflects the serious iron inside. No cover or footswitch. We test all the tubes, clean the pots and fully test amps before we list them. Shipments require signature on delivery, no exceptions. Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely. If there is damage, retain all packing materials intact, photograph them immediately, and send the photos to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com. Amplifiers: We take additional precautions to prevent common shipping damage. Depending on the amp, this may include removing tubes, pulling the chassis from the cabinet if heavy transformers present a drop risk, or removing heavy speakers that could crack baffles in transit. Reassembly is required on delivery — we label everything clearly. These measures add to shipping costs but reflect hard-won experience. All amps are tested in our shop upon intake and again before shipping. We cover shipping damage but cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in instruments that are 20 to 50-plus years old.
