The Blackwater is a 48-inch round western luxury ottoman built for the room that already has everything warm — the cognac leather chair, the limestone wall, the amber candlelight — and needs something that holds its own in the dark. Every panel of this drum ottoman is a study in controlled restraint. The circular top surface is caiman-embossed full-grain leather in a deep black matte finish — the caiman scale pattern pressed in uniform precision across the entire top, the black matte surface absorbing light rather than reflecting it, each scale ridge visible only as a shadow-on-shadow texture that reveals itself up close and disappears from across the room. The cylindrical side panels are full-grain charcoal distressed cowhide — a dark storm-grey base tone with heavy distressing showing lighter charcoal and silver streaks across the surface where the leather has been worked and broken in. The two dark materials — black caiman top, charcoal distressed sides — are separated by a single row of antique silver nailhead trim running the full 48-inch circular perimeter seam, each dome a cold metallic point that catches candlelight and reads as architectural detail rather than decoration.
