The Cauliflower Colt Coral, also known as Colt Coral, Soft Finger Leather Coral, Seaman's Hands Coral, or Blushing Coral, is a challenging species to identify due to its wide range of shapes and colors. Its texture is slippery, it usually forms colonies, and its "fingers" tend to be shorter among members of the Cladiella genus. As an expert in the product, it is important to know that Cauliflower Colt Coral (Klyxum sp.) is an aggressive coral that requires ample space between itself and other corals in the reef aquarium. Special attention should be paid to keeping Sinularia or Sarcophyton corals out of its reach, as they are vulnerable to being killed by this species. Its care is straightforward and it is suitable for all levels of reef aquarists. In order to thrive, proper lighting and water movement are essential, with the addition of strontium, iodine, and other trace elements to the water. The coral's body hosts symbiotic algae zooxanthellae which supply its nutritional needs primarily through photosynthesis. While it may also benefit from micro-plankton, baby brine shrimp, or specialized filter feeding invertebrate food, the majority of its sustenance is obtained through this light-driven process.
