Hight Desert Tenkara Camp out Amole Campground Ticket
Reserving your Spot at High Desert Tenkara Campout Reserving your spot One of the best parts about traveling to New Mexico for the High Desert Tenkara Campout is that camping all weekend with us at Amole Group Shelter is completely free. However, we are limited to 25 vehicles and 100 people at the group shelter. This creates a challenge if spots are reserved but attendees don’t show up, those spaces could be taken away from others who genuinely want to stay with the group. To help address this, we plan to charge a $20 vehicle reservation fee for parking at Amole Group Shelter for the entire weekend. We know it may sound odd for a free event, but this small fee helps us get an accurate headcount and encourages attendees to cancel in advance if their plans change. If a reservation is canceled, the fee will be forfeited and donated to the Bosque Chapter Trout Unlimited “Trout in the Classroom” program. The reservation will be able to be purchased through our site and will be limited to 25 vehicles (so only 25 tickets will be sold because of RMT crew members attending). This will make sure that you get a receipt for your purchase and that we don’t over sell our campground for the event. I’ll be honest, if all of the vehicle reservations fill up, this could turn into a meaningful donation to the Trout in the Classroom program. From the beginning, our philosophy at Rocky MTN Tenkara has been to get people outside, build community, and create opportunities to give back and make a positive impact. There is also other areas around Amole Canyon Group Shelter to stay at if we fill up but those are public campgrounds and sometimes rowdy. Look for tickets to be available on May 1st on our website @ 7:00am MST. We hope to see you here and would enjoy meeting everyone. Small Trailer Camping Information Small trailer camping (Pop ups, Tear dops and small foot print trailers) are welcome at the Amole Group Shelter; however, this is dry camping only. There are no hookups for water, electric, or sewer. Vault toilets are available nearby, but campers should plan to be fully self-contained. We are limited to 25 total vehicles, so early reservation is recommended. The group area can accommodate small to mid-size trailers. Larger rigs will not maneuver well and will not fit (30+ feet). We also recommend arriving during daylight hours to make parking easier. Please come prepared with: Your own water Power (generator/solar if needed) Waste storage Leveling blocks if needed This is primitive camping, but it's part of what makes the High Desert Tenkara Campout such a unique experience. Tent Camping Information ⛺ Tent camping is welcome at the Amole Group Shelter and is encouraged for those looking for a simple, community-style campout. There is plenty of open space for tents within the group area. Tent campers must arrive in a reserved vehicle, as we are limited to 25 total vehicles at the campground. Multiple tents per vehicle are welcome and encouraged to help maximize space. This is primitive camping, so please come prepared: No water hookups No electric hookups Vault toilets available nearby Bring your own water Pack in / pack out trash Expect uneven ground (bring stakes & good tent setup) We encourage group style camping to keep the community atmosphere strong. Set up near fellow anglers, share stories, and enjoy the full High Desert Tenkara Campout experience.
