THNK1994 Movie Club: Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again + Discussion w/ Rachel Handler | 21+

Join us for the inaugural edition of THNK1994 Movie Club: a screening series dedicated to screening the greatest films of all time. For our first installment, we’re presenting the 2018 emotional epic Mamma Mia 2: Here We Go Again exactly as it deserves to be seen: on comfy couches, among glamorous people, with free cocktails. Set against the sun-drenched isolation of a Mediterranean island, Mamma Mia 2 is a sprawling meditation on memory, motherhood, chosen family, and the psychic architecture of sea. Cher arrives by helicopter. Meryl Streep haunts the film like a benevolent ghost. Lily James stares directly into the abyss in overalls. Somewhere between ABBA songs and emotional breakdowns lies one of the most transcendent studio films of the century. Following the screening, we’ll host a conversation with New York Magazine writer Rachel Handler, author of the oral history of the film. Food will be provided by the NYC institution Lenwich, and cocktails from Aspen Vodka, will flow throughout the screening. Attendee gifts from Liquid I.V. and Vacation Inc. will be available for the first 50 to arrive.
