Fiber Finder (2H 2026)

Fiber Finder is a simple but powerful tool to enable broadband providers, manufacturers, state broadband offices, federal regulators, and others to see the extent of residential and business fiber deployment in the United States and in US territories. A hexagon is highlighted if the specified category of fiber (residential or business) is present. Fiber Finder reflects the December 30th, 2025 FCC release of FCC BDC Fabric v7 coverage data reflecting networks nationwide as of 6-30-2025. It will be updated with data from the FCC Fabric v8 soon. It shows which areas are populated and which are not. It also shows the total number of locations and units in each hexagon (level 8). It includes data for the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico, Guam, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Fiber Finder Getting Started Guide describes the download / installation process, provides an overview of features and functionality, and addresses frequently asked questions (FAQs). Those participating in BEAD (with a need for compliance analytics), those interested in understanding all four BEAD "reliable" technologies, and those interested in detailed fiber planning and analysis (depth of coverage, coverage category cross-tabs, competitive footprints, etc.) might consider the National Hex Toolkit or the Fiber Strategy Toolkit, or the Fiber Strategy Toolkit Pro.
