Specialist SENDCo Assistant Qualification (Early Years) Designed for early years practitioners, this qualification prepares you to support the SENDCo in delivering high-quality care for babies and children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). It covers working collaboratively with children, colleagues, and external professionals, while following current legislation and guidance. Combining both knowledge and practical skills, this course builds on the Early Years Practitioner standard to enhance your expertise and career progression. Who is it suitable for? This additional specialist qualification is designed for those working as early years practitioners supporting the role of the early years SENDCo. What are the entry requirements? Learners must be aged 16+ and currently working in an early years setting. There are no formal entry requirements, though a Level 2 qualification is helpful. How is this qualification structured? This qualification consists of two mandatory units. How is it assessed? Internally assessed and externally quality assured portfolio of evidence. How long will it take to complete this qualification? This qualification will take approximately 2 months to complete. Do you need to be working to take this qualification?
