Clusters of fabric patches are applied across the legs in the sashiko style, each one stitched with dense running stitch over raw-edged cloth, building quiet texture into a garment that is entirely new. Fragments of denim and woven cloth are layered and stitched together across the leg, each cluster a little different from the last. It is the kind of detail that reveals itself slowly, the longer you look. On the back, a vintage Japanese woodblock-inspired illustration is applied on natural linen — a hand-stitched nod to Edo-period craft and the culture that gave boro its meaning. The base is a straight-leg Japanese cotton denim with stretch — clean, high-waisted, and quietly structured. The denim holds its own without competing with the surface.
