Glazing Recommendations To preserve fine details and prevent smudging, we highly recommend applying glaze by: Dipping the piece into the glaze Dabbing the glaze on carefully with a sponge These methods minimize disturbance of the decoration and help maintain crisp lines and vibrant colors. Applying clear glaze with a brush directly over the decoration may cause the underglaze pencil markings to smear or smudge. For best results, we recommend using a zinc-free clear glaze to minimize unwanted reactions with underglaze colors and preserve the original appearance of your artwork. Tips & Testing Notes We have successfully tested these underglaze pencils on top of Stroke & Coat® glazes for outlining and adding fine details, with excellent results. The White Underglaze Pencil performs particularly well on black and dark clay bodies.
