Formichiere table lamp by Lino Tagliapietra for La Murrina, 1972
Exceptional table or floor lamp, model Formichiere. Designed by Lino Tagliapietra in 1972. Made together with glass factory La Murrina in Murano, Venice. This very special and elegant table lamp is reminiscent of the work of Lino. Long, elongated pieces of glass, often with bold colors and exuberant patterning. The Formichiere lamp is made of one piece of red Murano glass. In the length of the lamp, there is a transparent crystal band that allows the light to beam out. Our lamp is in mint condition and originates from the leftover stock, directly from the old warehouse of La Murrina. Tagliapietra’s work is represented in more than fifty international museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and the Musée des Arts Decoratifs in Paris.
