The Classic Surfrider

The Classic Surfrider: Crafted from lightweight Okoume marine plywood Wider than our standard boards, the Classic has incredible glide and feel in the water. It’s taken over a year of testing and refining to land on a shape that balances traditional style with the best ride performance we’ve ever had. Built on our tried and tested Surfrider template – a design we’ve used for generations – but made from lightweight Okoume marine plywood. This makes the board around 36% lighter than our standard birch boards. The result is a board with more buoyancy and noticeably more flex. That added flex gives a slightly different feel under you compared to birch – smoother through the water and more responsive across the face. Because of the timber, the board has a lower nose rocker, with the flex compensating naturally when riding. Made from 100% Okoume veneers, this is a true marine-grade plywood, designed to last. The timber is FSC approved and built to withstand years in the water. We’ve spent years testing materials and refining this design to create what we think is our best board yet.
