Turquoise Pahlik Mana Cuff

Wide sterling silver overlay cuff by Victor Coochwytewa, Hopi, featuring a central Pahlik Mana, or Butterfly Maiden, design associated with springtime, renewal, and the blossoming of life. Her tableta, or headdress, is formed with rain cloud motifs, while prayer feathers extend from the sides of her shoulders. Corn stalk designs on each side of the cuff reinforce the agricultural and seasonal themes of the piece. A channel of turquoise inlay runs along the lower edge, adding color and contrast to the bold silver overlay design. Hallmarked with Victor Coochwytewa’s cloud-style hallmark.
