Buoys Buoys Buoys A3 Riso print

The newest addition to our Designed By Harbour & Tide collection, and a proper Margate affair at that. This one's a little bit special. Printed in deep teal with a pink shadow and on a seafoam base. Made with Duplikat, a Margate studio working in riso, a process that runs more like an old photocopier than a modern printer. The artwork is burned onto a roll of paper wrapped around a print drum, and ink is forced through fine mesh to build up each colour, one drum and one pass at a time. The stencil can't be saved for next time, so every batch is printed in one go and never quite repeated. Everything is aligned by hand, so the layers sit very slightly out of step with each other, the small imperfections that give riso its character. Signed along the bottom edge, From Margate With Love.
