Early Favourite

Dual purpose plum. Raised at Rivers’ Nursery in Sawbridgeworth in 1834. Of unknown parentage. Medium, black skinned with russet dots and a chalky bloom. It is partially self-fertile so will set some fruit by itself. Having another plum tree in the same or adjacent pollination group will assist cropping. Flowering period C Pick and use late July. Supplied on half-standard rootstock St Julien A, suitable to grow free-standing or for fan-training (please add note to order if for formal training)
