Bandeau Workshop
Join us for a creative two-day workshop where you’ll design and construct your own bandeau headband. In this hands-on class, students will learn how to block using Fosshape, cover a base, and create a structured bow using fabric and sinamay straw. On the first day, students will block the base of their bandeau using Fosshape, a thermoplastic material commonly used in theater and cosplay and as an alternative to buckram in millinery. After shaping the base, you’ll learn how to wire and cover it with fabric. On the second day, we’ll focus on finishing details. This includes creating a bow using a sinamay foundation covered with fabric. Students will then complete their bandeau by attaching the bow, adding a sweatband, and inserting a silk liner. This small-group workshop is ideal for those interested in millinery, costume design, or exploring a new creative skill. Basic hand-sewing skills are helpful but not required. Workshop Dates Saturday, June 27th 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM Sunday, June 28th PM (One-hour lunch break each day) Students are responsible for purchasing their own fabric. Additional details will be provided upon registration.
