The centerpiece is a large abalone shell, glowing with iridescent colors that shift between blues, greens, and silvery light like waves reflecting the sky. Above it sits a Shiva eye shell and a druzy quartz stone, forming a layered composition that feels both protective and luminous. Abalone shells are formed from layers of calcium carbonate, creating their signature nacre—the same substance that forms pearls. This layered structure is what gives them their incredible shimmer. The Shiva eye, or operculum, is a natural “door” used by sea snails, often associated with protection and intuition. I paired these with druzy quartz, whose tiny crystal formations add a sparkling contrast and are composed of silicon dioxide, known for amplifying energy. I designed this ocean necklace using intricate micromacramé techniques with blue and aquamarine cord to mimic the flowing motion of water. The woven patterns feel like currents, tides, and waves moving across the piece. It took me multiple days to complete, and every knot reflects that time and intention. Adjustable with a tie in the back, this is a bold, statement piece—something I wear when I want to feel fully connected to the sea and its ancient, ever-moving energy.
