An extremely rare 1st edition "Tri-Symmetric" stool designed by Vladimir Kagan and manufactured by Kagan-Dreyfuss in 1950. This exceedingly rare stool features a unique, highly sculptured cast aluminum tripod base, and a contoured triangular horsehair seat in original moss green leather. On the underside, the stool features a quatrefoil attachment indicative of the first-generation examples. With this design, Kagan was truly blurring the line between furniture and sculpture and pushing the boundaries of what is possible from a manufacturing standpoint. This highly refined, sculptural rarity doesn't come up very often, so don't miss your opportunity to own what is one of Kagan's rarest and most desirably masterworks. The stool is in completely original condition with soft fading and gentle cosmetic wear to the supple leather. The horsehair feels as good as day 1. The cast aluminum base is in stunning vintage condition with very light patina. An absolute collector's dream from a condition standpoint. Dimensions: 22.5"W x 20"D x 13"H
