Ectoplasm is not for the faint of heart. These hand-rolled white copal resin incense sticks were inspired by the fraudulent Victorian seance phenomenon of the same name—when mediums claimed spirits were physically emerging from their bodies in clouds of ghostly vapor. Conveniently, most “manifestations” later turned out to be gauze, fabric, egg whites, paper, or whatever else could survive a dimly lit parlor and a gullible audience. Naturally, we found this charming. Unlike traditional incense, these are dense resin sticks—slow burning, powerful, and intensely atmospheric. The scent is deep, cleansing, resinous, and almost sage-like, lingering through rooms long after the smoke disappears. ──────────────────── Ectoplasm The seance room falls silent. A medium trembles in her chair as witnesses lean closer, desperate for proof of something beyond the veil. Then it begins. A pale, smoke-like substance emerges slowly from her mouth, drifting into the candlelight like a spirit taking shape. The room erupts in panic, prayer, fascination. Of course, history later revealed most ectoplasm to be little more than wet gauze and photographic trickery—but perhaps that only makes it more entertaining. Each glass test tube contains 4 resin incense sticks, and each burns for approximately 1.5 hours or longer. We recommend burning small amounts at a time in well-ventilated spaces due to their potency. Once lit, the resinous smoke slowly fills the room with a rich, cleansing aroma. To use: Hold a flame to the incense longer than traditional stick incense to establish a burn.
