1950s/60s Floral Raffia Basket Purse

1950s/60s round basket purse, made in the Philippines. The purse is made from woven straw or raffia and decorated with raffia flowers and leaves in pink, purple, cream, peach, and green. It has a round lidded shape with a gold-tone stiff synthetic cord handle. The handle has gold plastic details, including the grip at the top. The front closes with a metal clasp on a gold plastic tab. The inside is lined in bright orange fabric and has a small Made in the Philippines label. Measurements: • Diameter 18 cm / 7" • Height 13 cm / 5" In good condition with signs of age. There is some fraying and wear to the raffia flowers and leaves, light age-related wear to the basket, and some marks to the orange lining. The clasp works and there are no major breaks visible.
