Soft Leaf Yucca
Yucca pendula glauca Commonly known as Soft Leaf Yucca, Weeping Soft Leaf Yucca, Mound Lily Yucca, Curve Leaf Yucca Soft Leaf Yucca is a small-trunked yucca with blueish-green leaves that grow outward and then bend downwards, ending with sharp tips. These flexible, downward-curving leaves make this yucca a better choice for walkways than most other yuccas, since its sharp tips are not pointed outwards towards passing ankles or legs. When it blooms, it will grow a stalk from its center 3 to 4 feet tall with white, bell-shaped flowers. This plant is a larval host plant for the Yucca Giant Skipper Butterfly. Like all yuccas, Soft Leaf Yucca requires soil with good drainage. It prefers full sun, but can tolerate some light shade, though it may not grow as quickly or bloom as brilliantly. Height: 4'-6' Spread: 4'-6' Bloom: March-May Light: Full Sun-Part Shade Water: Low Zone: 6-10 Origin: Southeastern U.S. Synonym(s): Yucca recurvifolia; Yucca gloriosa var. recurvifolia; Yucca gloriosa var. tristis
