POLset149 Polyhedroid Agate Slices

These matching Polyhedroid Agate slices are polished on both sides, making them perfect for custom jewelry use. The pair shows alternating bands of crystal and banded agate, in translucent and bluish shades, and tiny hints of black. 48mm x 16mm 46mm x 16mm 4mm thick Polyhedroid Agates were found in Paraiba, Brazil, but are now unavailable. They are a unique formation of agate, featuring naturally flat surfaces at a variety of different angles. They are believed to have formed in the negative spaces between large crystal blades of calcite or aragonite, and can occasionally feature multiple "chambers" where those blades eroded and adjacent agates fused together.
