Princess cut citrine set in a textured silver ring

This design was a reminder that simplicity is often the hardest thing to achieve. At first glance it’s an understated ring, a textured sterling silver band with a 4mm princess-cut citrine sitting neatly in a handcrafted bezel setting. What isn’t immediately obvious is how much precision sits behind that simplicity. Every part of the setting was made by hand to fit this particular stone, with each measurement, cut and solder joint needing to be just right. When a design is this clean, there’s nowhere to hide – every line has to work perfectly. I love the warmth of the citrine against the cool silver, and the subtle texture on the band gives just enough character without distracting from the beautiful geometry of the stone. This ring is currently a size P but can be made to order in any size. This piece is part of my 52 Ring Project, a personal challenge inspired by rediscovering a long-forgotten collection of gemstones. After moving to Dorset, I unpacked two boxes of stones that had remained untouched for several years — some of which I have owned for over fifteen years. After carefully sorting and organising them by type, size and colour, I decided to bring them back into use by creating one ring each week over the course of a year. Each ring in the collection is made using a different gemstone, giving every piece its own character and story.
