【DESIGN】 The "3-skip pile series" is produced using old-style knitting machines to reproduce the unique texture found in vintage sweatshirts. This series uses thick No. 14 cotton yarn for the material, and while it has a more substantial appearance than conventional Remi Relief sweatshirts, it offers surprisingly light comfort. "3-skip pile" is a technique where the back yarn loops are skipped by several stitches and knitted loosely. This technique gives the fabric a sturdy structure while also providing appropriate softness and elasticity that flexibly adapts to body movements. Additionally, the skipped-stitch knitting method creates a structure that traps air, resulting in a thick, fluffy texture in the fabric. Despite this, the fabric's weight is reduced, achieving a lightness that prevents fatigue even after long hours of wear. These are carefully crafted sweatshirts that combine classic design with functionality, pursuing comfortable wear that has a vintage feel while also matching modern lifestyles. 【DESIGN】 This is a new Remi Relief sweatshirt that reproduces the 3-skip pile seen in vintage sweatshirts, using old knitting machines and thick No. 14 cotton yarn. This series has a more substantial appearance than conventional Remi Relief sweatshirts, yet it is lighter. 【PROCESSING】 What is SP processing (Special Processing)? Sweatshirts from the 1930s to the late 1960s were mainly dyed using direct and sulfur dyes. The fading principle in vintage clothing is believed to be a process where oxygen in the air and the amino acids holding the dye undergo oxidative coupling, causing hydrolysis, turning into carbon, and decaying. REMI RELIEF's SP processing reproduces this natural principle, using traditional direct dyes combined with oxygen to slowly fade the dye over a long period. Although the body undergoes some damage, unlike processes that forcefully dissolve the fabric with chemicals or bio-agents, this processing creates a natural, vintage-like damage closest to actual aging, making it indistinguishable from true vintage clothing the more it is worn. 【MATERIAL】 COTTON 100％ The yarn used for the pile is "fallen cotton" from organic cotton cultivated at the Alvarez Farm in New Mexico, USA. We use a very tightly knitted, firm pile fabric made by knitting yarn, characterized by its stiffness and crispness, right at the gauge limit.
