The ring walk is when they look at you In London in 2000, Naseem Hamed came to the ring suspended from a flying carpet before facing Vuyani Bungu, then cleared the ropes with his trademark front somersault. Some of his entrances ran past ten minutes, to the visible irritation of his opponents. Not everyone needs a flying carpet. The principle holds anyway: between the changing room and the first bell, a fighter walks in front of the hall, the cameras and the photographers, and what they wear is read before a punch is thrown. A hooded jacket carrying the gym's name does that job, and keeps the muscles warm between the warm-up and the call. That is the logic of this kit: two pieces designed together — same palette, same panel lines, same logo. The jacket comes off at the steps; the shorts stay on and carry the identity through the rounds. What the kit includes The ring walk jacket: sleeveless hooded cut, full-length zip, hood lined with breathable mesh, two side pockets, mesh inserts along the flanks and a trimmed hem. The matching shorts: wide gathered elastic waistband with a rectangular front panel, high side splits, mesh inserts and hems trimmed to match the jacket. The image on this page is a demonstration mock-up: black satin base, silver applied panels, black mesh and metallic trim. Your project starts from its own mock-up — cut, colours, fabrics and print areas are all decided with you before anything goes into production. Four branding areas The mock-up reserves four areas, the ones a crowd and a camera actually see: Jacket chest, left side, marked VOTRE LOGO on the mock-up: the area read head-on, in interviews and in weigh-in photos. Jacket back, marked VOTRE DESIGN: the largest area of the kit, the one carrying the gym or fighter name for the whole walk to the ring. Shorts waistband panel, marked VOTRE LOGO: readable head-on and still clear with the gloves raised. Shorts leg front, marked VOTRE LOGO: the area that stays visible once the jacket comes off. Legibility guide: a full back panel reads from the back of a show hall, a chest area reads at 2 m / 6 ft and in a tight camera shot. The two areas on the shorts take over once the jacket is off. Frequently asked questions How long does a custom ring walk kit take? Four weeks in total: 2 weeks production after the mock-up is approved, then 2 weeks delivery. The clock starts at your written approval, not at the order, so the earlier the artwork lands the safer the delivery date. If you are aiming at a show, give the date in your first message. Is the mock-up free? Yes. You send the project — colours, logo, slogan, name, sizes — and we produce a visual mock-up of the jacket and shorts, free and with no commitment. It can be corrected as many times as needed, which is exactly its purpose: settling colours, print areas and cut while nothing has been made. Production only starts once you approve it in writing. What is the difference between a boxing robe and a ring walk jacket? A boxing robe is long and loose, closed with a tied belt, in the tradition of big professional fights. A ring walk jacket stops at the waist, closes with a zip and comes off in one movement at the foot of the steps. It also gives a full flat back panel, which reads better than the back of a robe that moves as you walk. It is the usual cut in amateur boxing, kickboxing and Muay Thai. Can a whole gym be kitted out in the same design? Yes, and it is the most common use. The base design stays identical and each kit can carry the fighter's first name, nickname or weight class.
