Dichondra repens – Kidney Weed

This beautiful Native Australian ground has elegant ‘tractor seat’ shaped leaves that float gracefully like tiny umbrellas to form a lush green carpet. Relatively easy grow and will spread quite vigorously. Clumps can be divided and multiplied . often used to fill gaps between pathways especially along pathways between houses where low light conditions prevail. Can be used as a step-able lawn substitute for gardens in low light. It grows to about 5cm tall and can be mowed or trimmed with scissors. Suitable is full sun or part shade however the leaves will be smaller and shorter in full sun. Tolerates drought once established but can also put up with moist/soggy conditions.
