Toolangi Pinot Noir

Led by winemaker Kaspar Hermann, the wines of Toolangi Vineyard have transitioned over the years into honest expressions of the unique site whence they come. The vines are entering into maturity, and with it, the quality of their Pinot Noir increases. A mix of destemmed fruit and whole bunches, with the latter being just 10%, adding an extra layer of complexity to the palate without it feeling too green. This was allowed to ferment for two weeks, before being pressed to barrel (10% new) for nine months' maturation. This is textbook Yarra Valley Pinot Noir, with superb structure, offered at a price that competes above its bracket. Gorgeous red fruits accompany spice across the palate, with a detailed, lengthy finish.
