During the 1980's fashion houses like Christian Dior favoured bold, chunky silhouettes, heavy gold plating and vibrant, faux gemstone crystals that emulated fine jewellery such as this signature faux sapphire cut design. They are quite large measuring 2.5cms x 3.5cms. They have a gold tone clip mechanism with the Chr. Dior signature along with a registered number. The clip on mechanism typical of the high standard of Dior, is firm and comfortable. The large faceted blue sapphire glass is surrounded by baguette shaped clear rhinestones and round rhinestones.
