Jean-Marc Burgaud Morgon Cote du Py
Domaine Jean-Marc Burgaud was created in 1989, and today cultivates 12.5 hectares of vines in Morgon, with an additional 5 hectares in Lantignie. In a time when Beaujolais was known for the easy drinking, never meant to be aged Beaujolais Nouveau, Burgaud began with the mission to craft wines that express the unique terroirs of their holdings in Morgon and Lantignie, and are of much more cerebral character and depth, and able (and sometimes meant) to be aged. Burgaud's Morgon Cote du Py is classic Morgon, with a ripe character that is a signature of Burgaud's style. Dark fruited and easily approachable. This is the place to start when looking for Beaujolais coming from one of it's most highly regarded crus.
